Job Description


BASIC FUNCTIONS: The Senior Accountant is to perform all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, fixed assets, inventory and tax liabilities. Ensure all accounting records are maintained in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Practices. Manage the month-end accounting system close process and produce all Corporate and Divisional reporting requirements. Ensure full compliance with external and internal audit processes and ensure proper internal controls are maintained. Provide analytical support to other departments as it relates to accounting issues and drive continuous cost improvements across all aspects of the business. Work to maximize the safety and profitability results for the division, group and the company. Safety is an important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead and uphold safety policies, procedures and housekeeping standards to make safety a priority at all times.



  • Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis on Accounting.
  • 3 years of work experience in an accounting related field.

  • Problem Solving and Judgement/Decision Making – Identifying problems and analyzing or reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options in order to choose the most appropriate solution.


  • Previous steel fabrication and/or manufacturing experience.
  • Excellent computing skills with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and SAP.
