Job Description

PURPOSE: Support the fabrication division of Harris Rebar with machine repair, maintenance and trouble shooting. Assist the safety team in the design, development and/or installation of machine guards and safety devices. Advise Operations Manager, Branch Manager and Shop Foremen in machine purchasing, installation and maintenance. Train key branch shop personnel in the operation and maintenance procedures for local equipment.

1.Must adhere to Harris Rebar’s safety programs and standards.
2.Demonstrate conduct consistent with Harris Rebar’s vision and values.
3.Perform routine maintenance to ensure safe and optimum functioning equipment, systems and processes.
4.Troubleshoot, repair, and modify equipment to maintain workplace safety and production efficiency.
5.Generate parts lists and labor time estimates for maintenance and repairs.
6.Train key shop teammates on new equipment and/or modifications to existing equipment.
7.Maintain repair records.
8.Perform other duties required by the supervisor.

•Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
•Minimum two years experience working on hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical maintenance and repairs
•Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams
•Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to Harris Rebar vendor sites

Must be able to recognize and avoid electrical hazards in accordance with NFPA 70 E
Must be familiar with electrical PPE such as arc flash suit, insulated gloves and tools
Must possess the decision making ability to determine the level of hazard, proper PPE and job planning to safely perform the task

•Two year technical degree from an accredited school or college
•Training in electrical controls, welding, mobile crane operation and rigging

•Extended hours may be required
•Travel may be required (Negligible)
•Must be familiar with and adhere to Harris Rebar and OSHA safety standards

•Heavy lifting may be necessary
•Working conditions may be noisy, dusty, hot, cold
