PURPOSE:
Manage the estimating and sales staff to effectively and efficiently prepare material and services estimates and generate proposals for same to contractor customers, and to motivate, train, and coach estimating and sales personnel, all with the goal of maximizing opportunities for profitable sales of Harris Rebar products and services.
 

BASIC FUNCTIONS
• Must adhere to Harris Rebar’s safety programs and standards.
• Demonstrate leadership consistent with Harris Rebar’s vision and values.
• Assist the Branch Manager in establishing sales goals and price parameters for Harris Rebar products within the branch market area
• Manage the estimating, pricing, and quoting of products and services to afford the best opportunities for profitable sales
• Perform direct selling of Harris Rebar products
• Oversee and coordinate the estimating and selling efforts of estimating and sales personnel
• Oversee the process of order entry through billing for contracts so that customer orders are properly serviced
• Work with the corporate office to determine the credit worthiness of customers prior to bid offering and, when necessary, assist in the collection of delinquent amounts
• Maintain favorable customer relations through occasional sales calls and participation in construction industry events
• Conduct appropriate market research and keep management informed of trends in sales activity and selling prices through periodic reports
• Oversee the training and work of estimators and sales-related teammates in the branch, providing support and coaching where needed so that the work of all employees can be most effective
• Manage performance of all estimators and sales-related employees under your supervision
• Perform other duties as required by the supervisor
 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
• At least eight years of experience as a rebar estimator or equivalent construction/field estimating experience
• At least three years of supervisory experience
• At least three years in reinforcing steel product sales to the construction industry
 

SELECTION CRITERIA
• Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently
• Self-motivated
• Knowledge of the construction industry and contract law preferred

• Work is frequently performed beyond the normal weekday schedule
• Must preserve confidentiality of personnel records and certain business information
