Job Description

PURPOSE:
Prepare estimates with supervision and provide concise, accurate and complete quantities of fabricated reinforcing bars, mesh, accessories and related products required for projects on which Harris Rebar seeks to offer a bid so that contractor customers can receive timely proposals.
 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Must adhere to Harris Rebar’s safety programs and standards.
• Demonstrate conduct consistent with Harris Rebar’s vision and values.
• Develop knowledge of the reinforcing bar industry and the basics of estimating quantities of rebar, mesh, and accessories.
• Read blueprints to create accurate estimates.
• Complete the estimating of simple projects (e.g. foundation walls, footings, pier, slabs, stairs, retaining walls) with little or no assistance.
• Assist with estimating projects from bidding through pre-award.
• Work with sales staff to ensure accurate and complete estimates are made at bid time.
• Perform other duties as required by the supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
• Ability to read blueprints
• High school diploma, GED or state or local equivalent
 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION
• Two year technical degree or certification in construction management or project management from an accredited school or college
• Knowledge of construction or civil technology
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• General knowledge of basic math, geometry, and trigonometry

• Using hands to operate objects, tools, computers and other electronic equipment
• Lifting/handling computers and related equipment
• Vision abilities including close vision and adjusting focus
• Moderate noise level
