Job Description

PURPOSE:Requires the review and negotiation of Purchase Orders and/or Subcontracts to ensure that the scope of work is accurately reflected within the contract documents and that the commercial terms and conditions are acceptable

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES   

  1. Uphold the vision statement and core values of Harris Rebar.
  2. On all standard and nonstandard contracts, provide red-lined recommendations and negotiate directly with customers, project managers, purchasing staff and attorneys until agreement has been reached.
  3. Assist with contractual matters as they arise.
  4. Processing of unclaimed property reporting.
  5. Perform other duties as required by the supervisor.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Have working knowledge of the construction industry and its general practices.
  • Must have the ability to communicate in a professional manner when dealing with employees, vendors and other company contacts.
  • Self-motivated and ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi-task.
  • Work well as a team and collaborate to solve problems.
  • Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe/PDF. 
  • Previous experience with reviewing legal contract documents and negotiating mutually agreeable terms with customers.
  • Be a self-starter who is able to able to learn new concepts and terminology quickly, ability to conduct own research as required.
  • Possess excellent communication, time management, written, and organizational skills.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Have working knowledge of reinforcing steel terms
  • Familiarity with legal contract language and application to the construction subcontracting industry
  • Previous negotiation experience with key customers and corporate executives
