Job Description

PURPOSE:


Support Field Management on oversight of safety program at the job site. Responsible for ensuring
compliance with IIPP and other safety initiatives, contractor’s safety programs and all applicable
federal and state regulations applicable to safety. Assist Foreman with all documentation &
administrative work as it relates to overall site activities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


1. Demonstrate leadership consistent with Harris Rebar’s vision and values.
2. Support Field Superintendent and Foremen with all aspects of field documentation.
3. Responsible for ensuring compliance with company safety program, contractor’s safety programs,
    and with all applicable Federal and Provincial regulations applicable to safety and reporting any
    significant safety-related issues to Safety Manager and Superintendent.
4. Take corrective action directly with Foreman, Superintendents, Teammates or General
    Contractors if a safety concern is observed or reported.
5. Assist Foremen with various documentation & overall site administrative requirements including
    recording project schedule deviations, site photo records, log book entries, etc.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  •  Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Accuracy and attention to detail are essential
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs such as Excel / Word.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s / College degree preferred
  • Knowledge of the construction industry.
  • Certified safety designation:
    CHSO (Construction Health & Safety Officer) or NCSO (National Construction Safety Officer)

SPECIAL DEMANDS

  • Work may be required beyond the normal weekday schedule.
  • Must preserve the confidentiality of personnel records and certain business information.
  • Must be able to walk around a construction site & access ladders/stairways as required.
