Job Description

To assist The Operations and Branch Manager to achieve the Field safety objectives of the branch.

•Must adhere to Harris Rebar’s safety programs and standards
•Demonstrate conduct consistent with Harris Rebar’s vision and values
•Act as a resource for safety related issues supporting the operation and branch managers
•Monitor compliance with legislated standards
•Use personal experience and training to assist all crews in hazard identification.  Conduct and document regular safety inspections.  Conduct interviews with field team mates to determine and confirm their understanding of applicable safety policies and practices.
•Coordinate Safety policies and practices of Harris Rebar, its customers and its subcontractors. 
•Ensure completion of injury / near miss incident reports, including taking photographs, team mate and witness statements and root cause reports for all OSHA recordable injuries.
•Ensure completion of new hire safety orientations for new team mates.  Audit reporting of orientation program.
•Review and report on investigation reports, environmental incident reports, medical or first aid cases, and reports of damage to property or equipment to verify that corrective action has been completed.
•Monitor / participate in the investigation of safety observations, near miss incidents, and accidents.  Recommend corrective action to prevent recurrence.
•Promote Health and Safety, by example.
•Perform other duties as required by Supervisor.

•Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
•High school diploma or equivalent
•At least 2 years industry experience or an active safety related role.
•Knowledge of OSHA standards including CFR 1926 (Health and Safety Regulations for Construction) 

•CPR / First Aid / AED Certified
•OSHA 30 Certified
•Ability to achieve OSHA 500 certification within 1 year

•Ability to work as a team member on projects with an aptitude for problem solving
•Ability to affect change in an advisory / consultative capacity
•Organized and detail oriented
•Able to manage time effectively and prioritize responsibilities
•Exceptional verbal and communication skills
•Audit and Reporting skills

•Off prime shift work may be required to meet with and train teammates on other shifts
•Daily local travel to various jobsites

•Typical office activities
•Walking, sitting, standing, bending, daily climbing stairs and ladders
•Using hands to operate objects, tools, computers and other electronic equipment
•Lifting/handling computers and related equipment
•Vision abilities including close vision and adjusting focus
•Moderate noise levels
•Comfortable at heights
