Job Description


Support Safety Director on implementation of field safety program at jobsite(s).  Responsible for conducting field safety training, performing field safety audits, investigating safety issues at job sites, ensuring compliance with HDR IIPP and other safety initiatives, contractor’s safety programs and all applicable federal and state safety regulations.



  • Must adhere to Harris Davis Rebar’s safety programs and standards.
  • Demonstrate conduct consistent with Harris Davis Rebar’s vision and values.
  • Support Field Superintendents and Placing Manager with all aspects of field safety programs.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with company safety program, contractor’s safety programs, and with all applicable federal and state regulations applicable to safety and reporting any significant safety related issues to Placing Manager and Safety Director.
  • Conduct company safety training and orientation sessions for all new employees on site
  • Take corrective action directly with Foreman, Superintendents, Teammates or General Contractors if a safety concern is observed or reported.
  • Audit site safety plans, prepare safety reports to ensure compliance with safety requirements and to formulate safe work plans.
  • Assist Superintendent and Foreman in issuing warnings and instructing on safe work practices if work procedures are not followed.
  • Assist Superintendents and Placing Managers in conducting accident, incident and injury reviews and in conducting root cause investigations, including taking photographs and witness statements.
  • Assist Superintendents and Placing Managers in carrying out the goals of the Safety Program by formulating plans, procedures and objectives, and by evaluating effectiveness of the program.
  • Assist in injury and claims management as needed to include, but limited to, developing injury/illness treatment procedures and comply with OSHA recordkeeping requirements.
  • Setup and follow-up with Clinic care in the event teammates are injured

Job Requirements


  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
  • At least 3 years of construction safety & health experience
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards including CFR 1926
  • Hold valid OSHA 30 training certificate
  • Certified First Aid/CPR


  • Construction Health and Safety Technician Certification (CHST)
  • OSHA 500 preferred or ability to obtain OSHA 500 in first 6 months of employment
  • Bilingual- Spanish
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel and PowerPoint an asset


  • Ability to work as a team member on projects with an aptitude for problem solving
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Able to manage time effectively and prioritize responsibilities
  • Effective verbal and communication skills



  • Must be able to work overtime when required
  • Frequent travel to jobsites as needed
  • Occasional work outside normal working hours to train teammates working on other shifts



  • Typical office and construction site activities
  • Walking, sitting, standing, bending, climbing ladders and scaffold towers
  • Using hands to operate objects, tools computers and electronic equipment
  • Lifting/handling (typically not more than 25 pound)
  • Vision abilities including close vision and adjusting focus
