Job Description

PURPOSE:

Provide administrative assistance to the Branch by performing tasks that are repetitive in nature and minimally complex. Perform support at a basic operational level effectively with minimal supervision regarding two or more of the essential support functions necessary for the operation of the branch, including, production scheduling/shipping, inventory support, inside sales support, and basic accounting /bookkeeping support

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE

 

Inside Sales Support Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Demonstrate conduct consistent with Harris Rebar’s vision and values.
  2. Assist with sales follow-up and reporting.
  3. Coordinate shop production schedule with the Shop Manager and detailers to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
  4. Arrange trucking with approved freight companies and schedule deliveries
  5. Assist with basic accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks.
  6. Develop exceptional working relationships with customers and vendors.
  7. Prepare and record necessary paperwork.
  8. Communicate effectively and professionally with branch teammates and customers regarding all aspects of the estimating and bidding process to ensure that bids accurately reflect company costs.
  9. Prepare Sales Quotes and Estimates
  10. Field Sales Calls and Inquiries.
  11. Perform other duties as required by the supervisor.

Inside Sales Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Assist in the quoting of prices for Harris Rebar materials so that assigned customer accounts are certain to receive bids on work they are pursuing.
  2. Negotiate the sale of Harris Rebar products with customer accounts
  3. Assist in the resolution of claims and disputes between Harris Rebar and customers
  4. When necessary, assist in the collection of money.
  5. Develop and maintain cordial relationships with assigned customer accounts.
  6. Attend construction industry related functions in the sales territory so that the Harris Rebar organization has full knowledge of market and so that good customer relations are maintained.
  7. Perform other duties as required by the supervisor.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills and math skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Able to coordinate multiple tasks and work under deadline pressure
  • Accuracy and attention to detail are essential
  • Ability to meet critical deadlines and handle changing priorities
  • Demonstrate analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

  • Two year diploma from an accredited school or college
  • Some Construction Industry knowledge would be an asset but not essential
