Duties include:

  • Processing US and Canadian payrolls on a weekly basis;
  • Calculation and payment of taxes on a weekly basis;
  • Calculation and payment of garnishments on a weekly basis;
  • Calculation and payment of union dues on a monthly basis;
  • Processing Canadian and US Government Documentation;
  • Preparation of quarterly accounting reconciliations;
  • Preparation of quarterly reports – US government
  • Responding to inquiries, filing, and faxes.
  • Certified payroll reporting.
  • Additionally, you will be responsible for other miscellaneous tasks as required.
  • This job requires the person to work autonomously and take full responsibility for the payrolls issues and all functions relating to the employees on the payrolls.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations and best practices
  • Previous payroll experience an asset;
  • Accurate data entry;
  • Capable of meeting deadlines and prioritizing workload; capable of handling high volume workload in a fast-paced environment
  • Above average knowledge of Excel and Word;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Self-starter
  • Strong accounting knowledge;
  • People-oriented – enjoy dealing with people daily and assisting in solving their problems;
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and written;
  • Team Player
