Job Description

PURPOSE:

Provide strategic leadership of Harris Davis Rebar field operations, including oversight and development of managers, supervisors, and future leaders.   Collaborate with the Harris Rebar Branch Manager and Branch Team to achieve strategic goals and implementation of Harris Davis Rebar Vision and Values to be the Safest, Most Profitable, and Most Customer Focused Rebar Contractor in North America.

BASIC FUNCTIONS

  • Must adhere to Harris Davis Rebar’s Safety programs and standards
  • Demonstrate conduct consistent with Harris Davis Rebar’s Vision and Values.
  • Promote Safety culture within Branch and Region and provide safety leadership by leading by example with a passionate attitude for the safety of all employees, office, fabrication and placing.
  • Ensure that all work is executed in line with all Safety Policies and Procedures set forth by the HDR & Harris Rebar Safety Teams.
  • Ensure that the contractor and/or customer are aware of all HDR & Harris Rebar safety policies and procedures as they pertain to production requirements and expectations.
  • Pre-plan work and ensure required labor, tools or equipment are in place.
  • Collaborate with the Harris Rebar Branch Manager, and other Department Managers to identify strategic opportunities for growth in your market.
  • Work closely with the Branch Manager, Branch Team, Department Managers, and Placing team to ensure proper execution of Rebar Contractor strategy, including:
    • Develop appropriate Detailing, Fabrication, and Installation strategies to ensure that each job is safe and profitable for the entire branch.
    • Develop and ensure successful long term customer relationships with Branch Manager and Branch team
    • Implement a Sales and Bidding strategy within the Branch Manager that promotes the “Rebar Contractor Model” S&I package
    • Review and approve price and scope issues with the Branch Manager on every S&I Proposal that is sent out for bid.
    • Examine and approve all weekly timesheets and tonnage reports.
    • Share best practice ideas with Branch Managers, Detailing Managers, Placing Managers, and Fabrication Managers across all of Harris Rebar for applicability at their branch and assist with implementation as appropriate.
    • Discover opportunities for improvement and assist with implementation by reviewing Safety and Production results on all projects.
    • Communicate with Branch Manager on safety, bidding, awards, productivity, and profitability.
  • Evaluate team members that demonstrate growth potential and develop a succession plan and subsequent training, and collaborate and communicate with the Branch Manager to implement plan.
  • Coach, motivate, and train managers and other key teammates in order to achieve and embody the HDR Vision and Values.
  • Collaborate with Billing Department to identify all billable items are accounted for and invoiced.
  • Communicate, clarify, and ensure adherence of company policy & procedures to your department.
  • Assist Branch Manager with development of an annual safety strategy along with a budget that reflects market share objectives for the branch.
  • Develop and maintain relationships in local construction and business community and industries.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate rapport and relationships with local Ironworker’s Unions and make all manpower requests when needed.
  • Perform all other all other duties as assigned or required.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
  • At least 10 years’ experience with Rebar Installation and at least 5 years’ experience with pricing installation
  • At least 5 years of experience in a Supervisory Role including pricing and managing work
  • At least 5 years of experience in the Local Market

 PREFERENCES

  • STSC Certification
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Computer literate, proficiency with Word and Excel an asset

  • Vision abilities including close vision and adjusting focus
