Job Description

PURPOSE:
Be responsible for the sale of Harris Rebar products through direct selling as well as through training, motivating, coaching and managing sales and estimating personnel.
 

BASIC FUNCTIONS
• Must adhere to Harris Rebar’s safety programs and standards.
• Demonstrate conduct consistent with Harris Rebar’s vision and values.
• Assist in establishing sales goals and price parameters for Harris Rebar products in the region.
• Manage local estimating, pricing and quoting of products.
• Perform direct selling of Harris Rebar products.
• Oversee and coordinate the selling effort of sales personnel.
• Oversee the process of order entry through billing for contracts so that customer’s orders are properly serviced.
• Ensure that contracts sold in the region are properly allocated for detailing and fabrication.
• Work with the corporate office to determine the credit worthiness of customers and, when necessary, assist in the collection of delinquent amounts.
• Oversee the resolution of claims, disputes and extra charges between Harris Rebar and the customer.
• Maintain favorable customer relations through appropriate sales calls and participation in construction industry events.
• Conduct appropriate market research and keep management informed of trends in sales activity and selling prices through periodic reports.
• Oversee the training and work of other sales-related teammates in the region, providing support and coaching where needed so that the work of all employees can be most effective.
• Manage performance of all sales-related employees under your supervision.
• Perform other duties as required by the supervisor.
 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
• Minimum five years of experience in a supervisory sales capacity
• Previous sales experience in the construction industry, preferably reinforcing steel products


Valid Driver’s License Required 

 

PREFERENCES
• Bachelors degree
• Knowledge of the construction industry and contract law preferred

• Work is frequently performed beyond the normal weekday schedule
• Some travel is required
• Must preserve confidentiality of personnel records and certain business information

• Typical office activities
• Walking, sitting, standing, bending
• Using hands to operate objects, tools, computers and other electronic equipment
• Lifting/handling computers and related equipment (typically not more than 25 pounds).
• Vision abilities including close vision and adjusting focus
• Moderate noise level
