Job Description

PURPOSE:
Provide administrative assistance and customer relations to the branch by proficiently performing the essential support functions necessary for the operations of the branch.  The individual must perform the assigned responsibilities.  Tasks are of higher complexity and are varied in nature and can cross multiple disciplines, including Human Resources support, production scheduling/shipping, inventory controls, inside sales, and basic accounting/bookkeeping support.

Provides assistance to the operations of the shop.  Ensure a safe and efficient work flow by supervising yard/inventory staff and overseeing inventory flow in accordance with company policy, customer demands, and local, state and federal regulations.  Control accuracy of inventory levels and communicate to appropriate persons.
 
BASIC FUNCTIONS
• Must adhere to Harris Rebar’s safety programs and standards.
• Demonstrate conduct consistent with Harris Rebar’s vision and values
• Report weekly payroll
• Communicate/distribute all pertinent Human Resources information to location employees
• Assist with Maintenance of record keeping including safety, workers compensation, ect.
• Maintain strict confidentiality with regard to Human Resources and payroll issues
• Coordinate shop production schedule with the Operation’s Manager, Sale’s team and Detailing team to maximize efficiently and minimize costs.
• Develop a working relationship with Customers and Vendors.
• Prepare and record necessary paperwork
• Assist with basic accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks.
• Responsible for all processes, equipment, employees, safety and housekeeping of the yard and area.
• Supervise all personnel and operations on designated shifts and areas
• Troubleshoot production problems encountered by workers so that delays are minimized and equipment functions as safely and efficiently as possible.
• Oversee daily work assignments, and work schedules so that the most efficient use is made of all resources and equipment.  May have assistance from Rebar Fabricator Lead.
• Oversee the maintenance on shop/yard equipment in the designated functional area so that downtime is minimized and equipment functions as safely as possible.
• Assist in the evaluation of employees so that appropriate compensation can be made to employees based on merit.
• Perform other duties as requested by the Operations Manager
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
• High school diploma, G.E.D. or state/local equivalent.
• OSHA 10 certificate
• At least five years’ experience in a rebar shop or manufacturing setting or equivalent.
 
PREFERENCES
• OSHA 30 Certificate
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

• Excellent interpersonal and Organizational skills.
• Able to coordinate multiple tasks and work under deadline pressure.
• Accuracy and attention to details are essential.
• Basic knowledge of business, labor relations, and industrial regulations.
• Proficient in the use of computers.
• Skilled in communication, supervision, planning and human relations.
 
SPECIAL DEMANDS
• Must be able to work overtime when required.
• Must be able to work any shift.
• Occasional travel may be necessary.
• Must maintain confidentiality of personnel records and sensitive business information.
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Walking, sitting, standing, and bending.
• Some heavy lifting may be necessary.
• Working conditions can be noisy, dusty, hot, and cold.
• Using hands to operate objects, tools, computers and other electronic equipment.
• Lifting/handling computers and related equipment.
• Vision abilities including close vision and adjusting focus.
