Job Description

JOB PURPOSE
Manages customer delinquent accounts, initiate appropriate action and maintains customer records.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Review of accounts assigned and initiate collection action by contacting each delinquent account via telephone, including assignment of follow up action date.
• First point of contact for credit memo authorizations, customer refunds and contract item questions.
• Proactively research customer issues with branch and billing personnel for timely resolution.
• Work closely with branches, sales staff, billing department and other accounting personnel on the management and administration of large portfolio of accounts.
• Review accounts daily and provide reporting to branches regarding past due accounts.
• Initiate and provide appropriate collection action, short pay and dispute resolution as well as customer file record maintenance.
• Generate correspondence on accounts requiring special handling
• Research and follow up with delinquent account balances and provide job recaps and other related backup documentation(i.e. copy of quote, invoices, bills of lading, change orders, etc) when necessary.
• Responsible for maintaining and facilitating status reviews on monthly basis with branch locations (agenda/conference call).
• Provide backup and support to cover other members of the department as needed.
 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Finance or Associates in Business with equivalent work experience in related field.
• At least 3 years commercial credit/collection experience.
 

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS
• Familiarity with construction industry requisition process is desirable but not required.
 

SELECTION CRITERIA
• Must have the ability to review and interpret purchase orders and other related contract documents.
• Must be able to multi-task as well as handle difficult situations in a professional manner.
• Strong negotiation, oral, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
• Must be detail-oriented, diligent and able to work well in a fast paced environment.
• Excellent computer skills needed
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
