Job Description

PURPOSE: Manage the detailing and contractual responsibilities of one or more complex projects. Responsible for oversight of one or more detailer’s work load.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Demonstrate leadership consistent with Harris Rebar’s vision and values.
  2. Interpret contract documents through the level of complex multi-product contracts.
  3. Detail and/or coordinate detailing for the project(s) assigned.
  4. Coordinate project with architect, engineer, erector and contractor’s representatives.
  5. Supervise internal or vendor detailers as required.
  6. Schedule detailing and delivery of required products with the contractor and detailers.
  7. Review all changes to the project to determine scope of change order.
  8. Develop and price change orders or have ultimate responsibility for correctness.
  9. Manage project detailing, project scheduling, deliveries and cost containment through the use of our business system information, industry knowledge and other tools as required.
  10. Negotiate change orders with customers or work as part of a team of Harris Rebar teammates to handle change-orders through the point of sign-off by contractor.
  11. Train and improve detailing techniques of detailers under your supervision.
  12. Perform other duties as required by your supervisor.

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Vocational certificate in CAD design/drafting issued from an accredited school or college
  • At least six years of experience as a rebar detailer with Harris Rebar’s detailing system (RebarCAD) or other CAD based detailing system or other CAD based detailing system
  • Two years project coordinating experience of moderate to complex projects
  • Working knowledge of industry reference material (i.e. CRSI and ACI)
  • Ability to lead a team on large projects with an aptitude for problem solving
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Able to manage time effectively and prioritize responsibilities
  • Effective verbal and communication skills

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

  • Two year technical diploma from an accredited school or college

 

SPECIAL DEMANDS

  • Overtime hours may be required
  • Occasional travel may be required
